INTRODUCTORY LITERATURE

lit 3.jpg

Literature is a very interesting subject. I personally like literature. The short stories and poems we learned, I had fun doing research and reading each one of them. Mariah, Looking for a Rain God, Examination Day, Animal Farm and a lot more. We also had the opportunity to write our own poem. Mine was trash but at least I had experience writing a poem. My favorite short stories are Mariah and Animal Farm. Mariah was informative because it tackled topics like internalized misogyny amongst women and the irresponsibility from men. Such topics are still a huge issue even in today's society even though the story was written in 90s. It has issues that we need to be aware of and we need to change them because they are in ourselves. Through Mariah, I am mindful of problems in our society and I have to make sure I do not make the same problems. For Animal Farm, it was tiring but also I spent a good time reading it. It was tiring because of the historical relation, which at the same time confusing to know all the names. But it was fun to read about history and learned something from the past. The leadership in Animal Farm is exactly how we do not want people like that to rule a government. Unfortunately, governments around the world today are just as corrupt as the pigs. Nevertheless, I learned a lot from every topic!

Madam Ain is a dedicated and passionate teacher. She loved to question us and made us think. It was horrifying though. But she would explained to us thoroughly and clearly. She also loved to ask our perspective which is good because I get more information from my classmates too. She was exactly how I imagined her. Fierce, straightforward and sometimes jokes around. She is very firm on her decisions. And plethora of us are actually terrified of her. It's me, I am one of them. I messed up my presentation once and I felt like she dislikes me now. But overall, her classes were inspiring and lively!
