As usual for any start, we started with meeting during first times of our clubs. We introduced ourselves and picked people to fill in positions in the club. I was elected as a treasurer in KRS, a vice president in Falak and a committee member in Petaque. I was chosen because I am the oldest and I have to have marks for my co-cu. But the roles were fun while they lasted, made me feel powerful. But of course I don't abuse my power. Additionally, we didn't really use our positions to conduct the clubs members, it was all done by our teachers.
When it was nearly Independence Day, my school would always put on Merdeka movies every year to reminisce our dead heroes who fought for our country. One of the movies is "Bukit Kepong". The movie was touching and sad as we could see how they slowly lost each other. The wives watched how their husbands died. The kids watched their father died. They lost their houses in a big fire. The houses were set on fire by enemies. The movies never fail to show me the hardwork of our country's heroes.
Reading campaign is a must at schools nowadays. The students are given certain time to read their books and without doing anything else. It is indeed a great time for people to read because people read lesser and lesser everyday. This is a great start to be interested in reading.
